An important tool we use in our clinic to combat pain is Yoga. We have always believed that the right kind of Yoga can substantially reduce pain. Unfortunately, a lot of our patients have tried Yoga without proper instruction and then quit because they feel worse after the session. The problem is that Yoga for pain is very different than Yoga for non pain sufferers. Yoga for pain suffers is a very specific, gentle process. The November 10, 2010 issue of Pain published research from the Oregon Health and Science University which shows that Yoga can be very beneficial in combating Fibromyalgia.
